Independent agency Burns Group welcomes first-ever Chief Creative Officer, award-winning creative industry veteran Arturo Gigante.

The hiring comes as BG has added many new customers to its roster and is growing organically from its established customer base.

“The Burns Group has always been a strategic powerhouse, and the hiring of Arturo means that our quest for revolutionary ideas will be accelerated by even more creativity”, explained the CEO of BG, Jo mckinney. “Our customers are like us, they are brands that disrupt the status quo. Hiring Arturo allows us to explode other traditional ways of working. We are building new types of collaboration within the agency to break down the traditional structures that historically create a shift between strategy and creativity versus a more immersive collaboration.

At BG, Gigante will expand the agency’s creative team and actively recruit from a diverse pool of applicants.

“Growing up in Puerto Rico taught me the value of diverse perspectives, which is as true in life as it is in the creative process.” Gigante said. “Great work starts with great strategy and gets better through collaboration, not siled decision making. During my career, the work I have been most proud of has been the by-product of teams bringing together talent and resources to find innovative solutions for brands. I’m so excited to have the opportunity to break down boundaries, reframe agency roles and create a culture where big ideas come first.

In her new role, Gigante will work closely with Chamie Baldwin, Chief Strategy Officer of Burns Group and former colleague of Ogilvy.

“Arturo is what I call the perfect ‘idea companion’, someone who sees creativity as a verb, an active process that brings everyone together to share and develop ideas. says Chamie Baldwin. “Most importantly, we’re always chasing goosebumps… that time when an idea goes from good to great.

He joined BG after his own agency SPORK, which he co-founded in 2013 after a 14-year tenure at Ogilvy where he created award-winning work for clients such as Fage Yogurt, Kodak, IBM and other top brands. . At SPORK he has worked on a wide range of projects for brands such as SNY, Google, Honora and others. He started his career as an art director at the Baltimore tbc agency and also worked at Doner.

Over the past year, BG has attracted a wide range of disruptive brands, adding important new accounts to its list including McCain Foods, Niagara Chocolate, Fastaff, Trubiotics, Luxe Valut, Dntl Bar, Marley Spoon, TMRW and others. The agency also has long-standing clients including Labatt, Ricola, Columbia Business School, GSK, Simmons Mattress, Catalyst and others.
