LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Lynnwood police say they are looking for a man wanted for attempted second-degree murder who also fired a gun while fleeing from officers Tuesday afternoon.

An officer on patrol identified a car associated with a man who had a warrant for his arrest.

Police said the car was parked in front of the Pick-n-Pull Wrecking Yard, located in the 18300 block of Highway 99.

The officer called for reinforcements to help search for the man and found him inside the demolition site, where they attempted to arrest him, law enforcement said.

Police said the man pulled out a gun and pointed it at the head of the woman he was with.

Officers attempted to negotiate with the man, who then ran to the main parking lot where his car was parked.

Police say a witness said the man climbed a fence and fired at least one shot. An officer then fired back.

According to the police, the man escaped in his car.

A short chase began, but officers were unable to maintain visible contact with the car due to the suspect’s reckless driving, police said.

No one was injured during the accident.

Police say the man has not been found, but they are continuing to investigate.

While the Snohomish County Multi-Agency Response Team has been contacted to investigate since an officer fired his duty weapon, the investigation was denied as no one was injured, officials said. authorities.
