Welspun Corp wins pipe order of Rs 5,000 cr from US customer

Welspun Corp Limited announced on Friday that it had received a work order worth more than Rs 5,000 crore from a client in the United States.

“The order is the largest order in its history, for the supply of pipes, at over Rs 5,000 crore in the United States,” Welspun Corp Limited (WCL) said in a statement.

The order is for the supply of 3.25 lakh tonnes of large diameter coated pipe for transporting natural gas from the Permian Basin to Houston. The pipes for this order will be produced from the company’s Little Rock plant in the United States, he said.

The order will be fulfilled over a 12-month period, starting in the first half of the 2022-23 fiscal year, the company said.
